I am an internationally published and staged writer, theater & drama critic, theater & performance maker and educator working between Helsinki, Finland, my home country Kosovo/a and Nashville, Tennessee where I am newly based. My practice is heartily rooted on assiduous research that grounds on critical theory, cultural studies, oral histories and narratives, institutional and personal archives. I write fiction and non-fiction, plays, scripts and reviews as well as work as a cross-media performance artist, focused on site-specific participatory work that is informed by histories and formations of performance spaces as well as by individual and collective memory.
I have collaborated with various artists, collectives and institutions based in Kosova, Europe and the U.S. My work has been staged and stage-read across Kosova (National Theater, Lumbardhi Foundation, Dodona Theater), Helsinki/ Finland (LAPSODY, Vapaan Taiteen Tila, Myymälä 2, City Theater, oksasenkatu11/Äänen Lumo), Lucerne/Switzerland (Luzerner Theater), Berlin/Germany (Berliner Festspiele/Theatertreffen), Waldstock Festival and London/UK (Unicorn Theater), and the U.S. (Kindling Arts Festival, Defy Film Festival, CoopGallery), while my plays, op-eds, reviews and critique have been published in Kosova’s Koha Ditore, Kosovo 2.0., Prishtina Insight, in Athens, Greece (БАЛКАНСКИ КЊИЖЕВНИ ГЛАСНИК- The Balkan Literary Herald), Helsinki, Finland (NO NIIN Magazine), New York (The Theater Times) and Nashville based Music City Review. I currently serve as a board of directors’ member for Pedagogy and Theater of the Oppressed Inc. In January 2024, together with writer and filmmaker Chelsea Hall, we started Art Friends, a collective dedicated to making space for sharing artistic processes, inspiration, and co-creation. I’m also a member of the Nashville based transgressive art collective TRANCE//FURNACE.
